Job summary

Clarity Locums are currently recruiting Registered General Nurses (RGNs) for agency work in older persons' care settings throughout the Clare area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in General Nursing and active registration with the NMBI.
• Minimum 6 months' post-registration nursing experience.
• Experience in older persons' care and dementia care advantageous.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility for day, evening and night shifts.
• Eligible to work in Ireland and registered with Clarity Locums (or willing to register).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care for older persons in care settings.
• Assess and monitor residents' physical and emotional health and wellbeing.
• Conduct clinical observations and monitor residents' conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments per best practice.
• Support daily care needs and individualised care plans.
• Promote dignity, independence and quality of life for residents.
• Collaborate with GPs, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and care plans.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and clinical policies.
• Work as part of the nursing team across day, evening and night shifts.

Duties

• Providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care to older persons in residential and long-term care settings
• Assessing and monitoring residents' physical, emotional and overall health and wellbeing
• Carrying out clinical observations and monitoring residents' conditions
• Recognising and responding appropriately to changes in residents' clinical presentation
• Administering medications and treatments safely and effectively in accordance with best practice
• Supporting older persons with their daily care needs and individualised care plans
• Promoting residents' dignity, independence, comfort and quality of life
• Supporting residents with age-related conditions, including dementia, reduced mobility and complex healthcare needs
• Liaising with GPs, families, healthcare professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation and care plans
• Ensuring compliance with relevant clinical policies, procedures and HIQA standards
• Working effectively as part of the nursing and care team across day, evening and night shifts

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in General Nursing and active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Minimum 6 months' post-registration nursing experience
• Previous experience in older persons' care, nursing homes, residential care or long-term care settings is desirable
• Experience in dementia care and managing age-related health conditions is an advantage
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Experience recognising and responding to changes in residents' clinical conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A compassionate, professional and person-centred approach to caring for older persons
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility to work a mix of day, evening and night shifts
• Eligible to work in Ireland
• Registered with Clarity Locums (or willing to register)
