Job summary

CPL HealthCare in Dublin is seeking Social/Residential Care Workers for an Aftercare service in Santry to support vulnerable young adults toward independent living. You will work in a 24/7 staffed service, providing interventions and advocacy within a trauma-informed framework.

The role requires experience with mental health, addictions, crisis management, and de-escalation, plus the ability to operate as a lone worker within a team. Shifts include evenings, weekends, and overnights.

Qualifications

• High level written and verbal communication skills; MS Office proficiency.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of rights and entitlements aftercare leavers.
• Understanding of mental health behavioural patterns and presentations.
• Understanding of addictions and related effects.
• De-escalation and crisis management experience.
• Experience supporting young adults under 25 who have experienced care/justice/institutional care.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care.
• Lone working experience in a low-threshold residential setting.
• Experience with poly-substance misuse, dual diagnosis and trauma-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised interventions to young adults aged 18–23 to enable independence.
• Support and advocate within a trauma-informed environment.
• Work as a lone worker within a team to ensure safety and stability.
• Help residents identify goals and person-centred targets.
• Deliver 24/7 support with shifts including evenings, weekends and overnights.
