Job summary

Daffodil Care Group is expanding its Aftercare service in Gorey Town, Co. Wexford, inviting applications for Social Care Workers to support young adults aged 18-23 in a residential setting.

The role involves implementing individualised placement plans, working with a multidisciplinary team, and lone-working to ensure safety, stability and progress toward independent living. Driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with high level written and verbal communication.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of rights and entitlements for aftercare leavers.
• Understanding of mental health behavioral patterns and presentations.
• Understanding of addictions and related effects.
• De-escalation and managing challenging behaviours including crisis management.
• Experience supporting young adults under 25 with care, justice, prison or supported accommodation.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care.
• Lone working experience in a low threshold residential setting.
• Experience with complex traumas from care systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised interventions to 18–23 year olds in residential aftercare.
• Support and advocate for residents and plan placement plans.
• Work as a lone worker within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and stability.
• Promote independence and life skills for service users.
