Job summary

Medforce in Ireland seeks an Occupational Therapist to join the acute hospital team in Drogheda. The role focuses on patient-centred assessments, cognition and daily living activities, and discharge planning to maximise independence.

You will work within an MDT, develop rehabilitation plans, and support timely discharge from the hospital setting. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, with CORU registration required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with CORU registration.
• Experience in multidisciplinary teams (MDT).
• Understanding of discharge planning and community services.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive functional and occupational therapy assessments.
• Assess ADLs, cognition and functional ability for discharge planning.
• Develop and implement individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans.
• Provide functional rehabilitation and education to patients and carers.
• Recommend equipment, adaptive techniques and environmental modifications.
• Contribute to discharge planning from an early stage of admission.
• Review progress and adjust intervention plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and data protection.
