Job summary

Medforce is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a permanent role in the South Dublin area within an inpatient mental health service. The OT will deliver high-quality clinical care, assess and plan treatment, and collaborate with residents, families and staff in goal setting and intervention planning.

The post requires CORU registration, a degree in Occupational Therapy, and eligibility for AOTI membership, with strong IT skills and a proactive, collaborative approach to patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be registered on the CORU Occupational Therapists Register.
• Hold a degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and be eligible for AOTI membership.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and other statutory regulations affecting healthcare.
• Energetic team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient IT skills.
• Be responsible, patient/resident friendly, and self-confident, enthusiastic and persuasive.

Responsibilities

• Ensure highest standard of clinical care in Occupational Therapy is planned and delivered and meets objectives in line with local and national standards.
• Assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment/intervention programmes for residents and patients.
• Collaboration with resident, family, carers and other staff in goal setting and treatment planning.
• Participate in the multi-disciplinary team and work in co-operation with team members.
• Maintain comprehensive clinical records of assessments and interventions.
• Provide Occupational Therapy Services within a legally compliant framework and defined budgetary framework.
• Be an active member of Clinical Governance Committee and assist in strategic and operational plans.
• Receive monthly supervision from Senior Occupational Therapist.
