Job summary

Wygram Nursing Home in Wexford Town is seeking an Activities Co-Ordinator to promote social, emotional and recreational wellbeing for residents. You will plan and lead a varied programme, centred on individual interests and abilities, with an emphasis on independence and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the social care and activities programme within the home.
• Develop a varied programme of meaningful activities promoting independence and wellbeing.
• Ensure activities are person-centred, aligning with residents' interests and abilities.
• Encourage resident participation and help maintain hobbies and new interests.
• Organise group and individual activities, events, outings and celebrations.
• Work with residents, families and the multidisciplinary team to enhance social wellbeing.
• Encourage interaction and companionship among residents.
• Support staff and volunteers involved in activities.
• Maintain records of activities and participation.
• Liaise with external groups, entertainers and community organisations.
• Ensure activities are delivered safely and in line with policies.
• Promote a positive and inclusive culture where residents participate and feel valued.
