Job summary

Rush Nursing Home is seeking an Activities Coordinator to support residents in carrying out daily activities under nursing staff supervision. You will ensure residents’ privacy and dignity are respected at all times.

You will organise standard daily activities (arts, crafts, gardening, games, exercise, walks, etc.) and plan special activities such as outings, birthday parties, and seasonal celebrations. You will maintain daily/weekly activity programs and resident life-story files.

Qualifications

• Healthcare or social care qualification required.
• Experience in a similar role desirable.
• Sonas and Imagination Gym courses are preferred but not essential.
• Enthusiastic, caring, reliable and empathetic by nature.
• Strong communication skills and fluent English (written and oral).

Responsibilities

• Organise and maintain daily activities including arts & crafts, baking, gardening, games, exercise and more.
• Plan and implement special activities such as outings, garden visits, parties and seasonal celebrations.
• Draw up daily and weekly activity programmes.
• Maintain daily files and charts evidencing planned and carried actions.
• Ensure each resident has an up-to-date Life Story Book and relevant records.
• Keep nursing staff updated on residents' condition.
• Assist with orientation of new residents to the Nursing Home environment.
• Attend in-service training and education programmes.
• Perform escort duties and may work beyond rostered hours as required.
• Work in any area of the Care Centre as required.
