Job summary

Collins McNicholas Group is assisting in the search for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the finance team on a 12-month maternity cover. The role is based in County Roscommon and involves payroll, day-to-day accounts, and financial reporting responsibilities.

Ideal candidates will have payroll experience, solid accounting knowledge, and strong IT skills with Excel, Outlook and Word. Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar accounts role.
• Experience with payroll is essential.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload.
• Highly organised, proactive and self-motivated.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and processing weekly payroll for ROI and NI.
• Preparing monthly accounts through to trial balance.
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Preparing and posting monthly journals.
• Assisting with variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Supporting the year-end audit process.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Providing general support to the Financial Controller and assisting with ad hoc duties as required.
