Job description

This is a role for someone who wants to be at the centre of an accounts function, not on the edge of one. Someone who'd rather have variety and real responsibility than the same narrow routine every day.

This is a small finance team supporting a large business — eleven gaming venues across Ireland and Northern Ireland, our online casino, and everything that comes with them. That means you won't have one lane. You'll work across the whole accounts function: payables, receivables, credit control, reconciliations, payroll, VAT and reporting — often in the same week, sometimes in the same day.

The work matters immediately. Payroll, payments and reporting are live from your first week — this isn't a role where you shadow someone for six months before touching anything real. You'll see the effect of what you do the same week you do it.

We care more about how you think than what's on your CV. If you've got solid accounts experience, an eye for detail, and you're the kind of person who spots a broken process and fixes it rather than working around it — we want to hear from you. The title and pay match what you bring.

Coastline Gaming is one of Ireland's most established gaming and entertainment operators, with eleven venues nationwide and our fast-growing online casino. For over 40 years, we've been creating spaces where people come to enjoy themselves — not a startup that might not be around tomorrow. We're stable, we're growing, and we invest in the people who run the business day to day.

One more thing, and it matters: we're an AI-forward company. Everyone here, up to Senior Management and Director level, uses AI tools daily for real work — and finance is no exception. We're not looking for an AI expert. We're looking for an accounts person who already uses AI to work better, wants to get better at it, and sees it for what it is: the biggest change in how this kind of work gets done in a generation. If that excites you rather than worries you, keep reading.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts payable — processing supplier invoices, matching to purchase orders and delivery dockets, running payment runs, and reconciling supplier statements
  • Accounts receivable — raising sales and inter-company invoices, allocating receipts, and keeping the sales ledger accurate and current
  • Bank and payment provider reconciliations — reconciling multiple bank accounts and payment gateway statements, and chasing down discrepancies until they're resolved
  • Payroll — preparing and processing payroll including PAYE, PRSI and USC, managing starters and leavers, and hitting every Revenue deadline
  • VAT — preparing and filing accurate returns on time
  • Cost analysis — reviewing costs across the business, spotting trends and savings opportunities, and supporting budgeting and forecasting
  • Weekly and monthly reporting — producing the management reports the business actually uses, and supporting month-end close
  • Accounts postings and admin — accurate, timely posting to the accounting system, keeping a clean, audit-ready ledger, plus the general administration that keeps the office running
  • Making the work better — using the AI tools we'll give you to take the repetitive parts of all of the above and make them faster, cleaner, or unnecessary
  • This list isn't a boundary. If you see a process that's slower or messier than it should be, improving it is part of the job — and you'll have the tools to actually do it.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Hands-on accounts experience — you've personally run payables, receivables or reconciliations in a bookkeeping or accounts role, ideally with exposure to accounting software and payroll
  • A real AI habit — you already use tools like ChatGPT or Claude for actual work, and you want to go a lot further. You don't need to have built anything technical — you need genuine interest and a track record of actually using it
  • An eye for detail that doesn't switch off — accuracy is a habit, not an effort. AI speeds up the work; it doesn't excuse sloppy numbers
  • A self-starter — you see what needs doing and do it, without waiting for a brief
  • Organised under pressure — multiple deadlines, multiple priorities, and you still hit them
  • A clear communicator — you can explain a set of numbers to someone who doesn't live in spreadsheets
  • You have opinions — you can look at a finance process and say what's working, what's not, and why
  • A relevant qualification — ATI/IATI, or part-qualified ACCA/ACA — is an advantage, but not essential. What matters is what you can do.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Competitive compensation — based on experience, capability and skills
  • Real AI tools, paid for — full access to a professional AI stack from day one, and the training to use it well. Most finance roles won't give you this for years; here it's standard
  • Skills that compound — accounts experience plus real AI capability is the most employable combination in finance right now, and you'll build both here
  • Real breadth — the full accounts function, not a silo
  • Responsibility from day one — real work early, and the freedom to shape and improve processes as you go
  • Room to grow — the business and the finance function are both expanding, and progression is real
  • A small, supportive team — where your contribution is visible, not lost in a headcount
  • Flexibility that fits — hybrid working for Dublin-based team members; free onsite parking at our Buncrana office
