Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant with recognised professional designation.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience preparing management accounts.
  • Experience reviewing commercial contracts or supplier agreements.
  • Excellent Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Complete month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accuracy.
  • Prepare VAT, payroll, and statutory returns.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Support audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Review supplier invoices and raise customer invoices.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable; maintain credit control.

Accountant / Finance & Contracts Executive

Location: Cork, Ireland

Employment Type: Full-time - 4 days in Cork office, 1 day remore

Salary - 60,000

We are seeking a commercially minded Accountant to join our growing technology company in Cork. This is a broad role that combines core accounting responsibilities with invoice management, contract review, and commercial support. The successful candidate will work closely with finance, sales, legal, procurement, and senior leadership to ensure financial accuracy, strong commercial governance, and efficient business operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working beyond traditional accounting and wants exposure to commercial contracts and operational finance.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Complete month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accuracy.
  • Prepare VAT, payroll, and statutory returns.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish accounting standards and tax regulations.
Invoice & Accounts Management
  • Review and approve supplier invoices.
  • Raise and issue customer invoices accurately and on time.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable.
  • Resolve invoice queries with suppliers and customers.
  • Maintain strong credit control processes.
  • Improve invoice approval workflows and financial controls.
Contract Review & Commercial Support
  • Review customer and supplier contracts before execution.
  • Identify commercial, financial, and contractual risks.
  • Ensure pricing, payment terms, milestones, and obligations are commercially appropriate.
  • Work with legal and sales teams to negotiate financial terms where required.
  • Maintain a central contract register.
  • Monitor contract renewals, expiry dates, and commercial commitments.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are reflected accurately in financial reporting.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA).
  • 3+ years' accounting experience.
  • Experience preparing management accounts.
  • Experience reviewing commercial contracts or supplier agreements.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
