Job description

Accountant | Group Finance

Are you a qualified accountant looking for more than another month-end reporting role?

We are recruiting a qualified accountant to join the Group Finance team of an established and growing organisation in Shannon. This is a broad accounting role with genuine exposure across group consolidations, statutory reporting, audit, tax, financial controls and finance transformation.

You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders and take ownership of key areas of the Group's financial reporting. For someone who enjoys the technical side of accounting but wants greater responsibility, visibility and scope to influence how finance operates, this is an excellent next move.

The Opportunity

As part of the Group Finance function, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across a multi-entity organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing Group consolidated financial results and reporting packs
  • Managing consolidation journals, intercompany eliminations and reconciliations
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements and year-end accounts
  • Taking a lead role in the external audit process, including audit files, schedules and auditor queries
  • Reviewing financial submissions from Group entities and ensuring consistency and accuracy
  • Supporting month-end and year-end reporting across the Group
  • Working on technical accounting matters under FRS 102 and/or IFRS
  • Supporting corporation tax, VAT and year-end tax reporting
  • Strengthening financial controls and identifying opportunities to improve existing processes
  • Working with senior finance stakeholders, auditors, tax advisers and other external partners
  • Supporting the continued development of reporting, systems, automation and the use of technology across finance
Who We're Looking For

You will be a qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent- with a strong grounding in financial accounting and reporting.

You don't necessarily need to tick every box, but experience in several of the following areas would be particularly relevant:

  • Group or multi-entity financial reporting
  • Consolidations and intercompany accounting
  • Statutory accounts preparation
  • External audit
  • FRS 102 and/or IFRS
  • VAT and corporation tax
  • Financial controls and process improvement
  • Strong Excel and financial systems capability

You may currently be working as a Financial Accountant, Senior Financial Accountant, Group Accountant or Financial Reporting Accountant, either within industry or making the move from practice into a Group Finance environment.
