Job summary

ES Talent Management are hiring contract accountants for a Dublin project. The role covers end-to-end Local GAAP reporting and US GAAP activities, with statutory accounts and audit deliverables central to the remit.

You will work with external auditors, maintain ledgers, and support new reporting tools while ensuring robust controls and timely financial statements.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• Qualified Accountant or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Local and US GAAP.
• Minimum 3+ years of related accounting experience.
• Experience in a shared services/multinational environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements in line with Local GAAP.

Description

ES Talent Management are hiring 'contract accountants' for an upcoming project on behalf of our client located in Dublin. From an operational perspective, there are a number of accounting responsibilities. In particular, the group is responsible for end to end Local GAAP reporting activities, as well as a number of US GAAP related activities. The Statutory Accountant is an important member of a team primarily focused on the on-time and accurate completion of financial statements, audit delivery, statistical reporting and key deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements in line with local requirements
• Prepare audit deliverables
• Work with external auditors to ensure timely & satisfactory completion of audits under Local GAAP
• Maintain Local GAAP ledgers ensuring information is updated in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepare US GAAP quarterly controls, including post submissions analytics
• Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders in market finance
• Act as a first point of contact for key stakeholders, both internally and with external parties
• Support implementation of new business technology and reporting tools around financial statement preparation
• Contribute to team effort and assist other colleagues as needed
• Proactively identify, rectify and follow-up on local accounting issues arising
• Ensure adherence to controls and a robust controls culture
• Identify opportunities for process continuous improvement and implement solutions
• Support departmental, ad hoc and other projects as required

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Education, Skills and Experience

• University Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
• Qualified Accountant or equivalent
• Knowledge and practical experience of Local and US GAAPs preferred
• Minimum 3+ years of related accounting experience required
• Experience in a shared services/multinational environment preferred
• Strong accounting, interpersonal, analytical and organisational skills a prerequisite
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and handle conflicting priorities
• SAP experience preferred
• Proficiency in PC skills (inc. Word and Excel)
