Wygram Nursing Home in Wexford Town is seeking an Accommodation Assistant to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. The role focuses on laundry, housekeeping and maintaining high cleanliness standards for residents, with duties spanning daily room and common area cleaning, stock checks and safe operation of laundry equipment.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, strong attention to detail, teamwork ability and a caring manner.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high standard of cleanliness in the home for residents’ safety and comfort.
• Daily cleaning of residents’ rooms and common areas.

• Assist with waste management and laundry duties.
• Wash, dry, fold and return residents’ clothing and linen timely.
• Operate laundry equipment safely and according to guidelines.
• Label and organise residents’ clothing to ensure correct return.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures.
• Monitor laundry supplies and notify management when restocking is required.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised laundry environment.
• Report damaged clothing, linen or equipment to management.
• Collaborate with housekeeping, nursing and care teams.

Job Profile:

The ideal applicant for this job will have experience as a laundry, housekeeping or accommodation assistant along with the ability to work both as part of a team and your own initiative. The successful candidate will need to have good work ethic as well as a hands-on approach.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

Responsibilities

• Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is always maintained in our home for the enjoyment and safety of our residents
• Daily cleaning of common areas and residents’ rooms
• Checking stock levels of all consumables and replacing when appropriate
• Assisting with waste management
• Ensuring all residents' clothing, bedding, towels, and linen are collected, sorted, washed, dried, folded, and returned in a timely manner
• Operating laundry equipment safely and efficiently while following manufacturer guidelines and company procedures
• Maintaining accurate labelling and organisation of residents' personal clothing to ensure items are returned correctly
• Adhering to infection prevention and control procedures at all times
• Monitoring laundry supplies and notifying management when stock levels require replenishment
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised laundry environment
• Reporting any damaged clothing, linen, or equipment to the appropriate manager
• Working collaboratively with housekeeping, nursing, and care teams to support the comfort and wellbeing of residents
• Following all health and safety policies and procedures
