Job summary

Elite Talent Hub Recruitment, on behalf of a well-established client in Fermoy, is seeking an experienced 14-Tonne Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join its busy timber operation.

You will operate a 14-tonne forklift, move timber and heavy materials around site, and work rotating shifts with a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. pattern on Week 1 and 4:00 p.m. to midnight on Week 2, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Valid counterbalance forklift licence is required.
• Experience operating large-capacity forklifts (up to 14 tonnes) is preferred.
• Experience in sawmill, timber, manufacturing, construction-materials or heavy industrial environments is advantageous.
• Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to handle long, heavy or awkward materials safely.
• Reliable, punctual and comfortable with rotating shifts.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 14-tonne counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload and transport timber and other heavy materials around the site.
• Move finished products, raw materials and stock between production, storage and dispatch areas.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles accurately and safely.
• Stack and position timber products securely within designated storage areas.
• Carry out daily forklift inspections and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
• Work closely with production, yard and dispatch teams to maintain an efficient flow of materials.
• Follow all site health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Assist with general yard or operational duties when required.

Rotating Shift Pattern

• Week 1: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Week 2: 4:00 p.m. to midnight

Candidates must be available to work both shifts on a rotating weekly basis.
