Responsibilities

• Operate a 14-tonne counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload and transport timber and other heavy materials around the site.

• Load and unload delivery vehicles accurately and safely.
• Stack and position timber products securely within designated storage areas.
• Carry out daily forklift inspections and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
• Work closely with production, yard and dispatch teams to maintain an efficient flow of materials.
• Follow all site health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Assist with general yard or operational duties when required.

Hourly Rate: €14.85

Rate Including Shift Allowance: €17.08 per hour

Elite Talent Hub Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established client operating within the timber and sawmill industry. We are seeking an experienced 14-Tonne Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join its busy operation in Fermoy.

Rotating Shift Pattern

• Week 1: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Week 2: 4:00 p.m. to midnight

Candidates must be available to work both shifts on a rotating weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a 14-tonne counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload and transport timber and other heavy materials around the site.
• Move finished products, raw materials and stock between production, storage and dispatch areas.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles accurately and safely.

Candidate Requirements

• Valid counterbalance forklift licence.
• Previous experience operating a large-capacity or heavy counterbalance forklift, ideally up to 14 tonnes.
• Experience within a sawmill, timber, manufacturing, construction-materials or heavy industrial environment would be advantageous.
• Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to handle long, heavy or awkward materials safely.
• Reliable, punctual and comfortable working rotating shifts.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
