Job summary

Peoplyee is seeking an experienced Senior Workshop Manager to oversee all workshop activities within the oil & gas and heavy equipment domain. You will drive schedules, ensure safety and quality standards, and lead a multidisciplinary team of mechanics, technicians, and operators.

The role requires 7–10 years in related fields with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity, strong technical knowledge, and excellent leadership and communication skills to coordinate across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience; at least 3 years in a managerial role in workshop operations, maintenance, or manufacturing.
• Experience in oil & gas, mining, or heavy equipment industries; electric pumping systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all workshop activities to ensure quality and productivity targets are met.
• Develop work schedules, monitor timelines, optimize personnel/equipment/material usage.
• Ensure compliance with technical specs, quality standards, and procedures.
• Inspect, resolve production issues, and supervise maintenance of workshop machinery and equipment.
• Implement health, safety, and environmental procedures; identify hazards and mitigation measures.
• Lead, train, coach, and evaluate workshop staff.
• Manage spare parts, tools, and raw materials; minimize shortages and waste.
• Monitor operating costs and coordinate procurement within budget.
• Prepare and analyze operational reports on productivity and maintenance.

Jobs Description

• Manage and oversee all workshop activities to ensure efficient operations and achievement of quality and productivity targets.
• Develop work schedules, monitor production timelines, and optimize the use of personnel, equipment, and materials.
• Ensure workshop activities comply with technical specifications, quality standards, and operational procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections, resolve production issues, and oversee preventive maintenance and repairs for workshop machinery and equipment.
• Implement occupational health, safety, and environmental procedures, identify workplace hazards, and establish appropriate mitigation measures.
• Lead, train, coach, and evaluate mechanics, technicians, operators, and other workshop personnel.
• Manage spare parts, tools, and raw material inventories while minimizing shortages, excess stock, and waste.
• Monitor workshop operating costs and coordinate the procurement of required goods and services within the approved budget.
• Prepare and analyze operational reports covering productivity, efficiency, maintenance activities, and technical issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation for equipment inspections, repairs, and maintenance while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Jobs Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 7–10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role within workshop operations, maintenance, or manufacturing.
• Experience in the oil and gas, mining, or heavy equipment industry; experience with electric pumping systems is highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repair systems for heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or electric pumping systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment specifications, and workshop operating standards.
• Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems and inventory control software.
• Good understanding of occupational health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise technical personnel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving technical and operational issues.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across departments.
