Job summary

PT Halmahera Persada Lygend is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead a team of mechanics in heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance on Obi Island. The role focuses on cost awareness, preventive maintenance, and efficient spare parts usage.

The candidate will plan schedules, manage procurement, and report on workshop performance while coordinating with stakeholders in mining and logistics operations. Immediate joining is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma(D3) or Bachelor's(D1/S1) in Mechanical Eng/Automotive or related field.
• 5+ years in heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance.
• Experience as Workshop Manager or Head preferred, in mining or logistics.
• Ability to lead a workshop team with training and reviews.
• Strong leadership, communication and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of mechanics; conduct training and evaluations.
• Drive operational efficiency through cost analysis and planning.
• Plan and schedule routine maintenance and repairs.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement requests.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare reports on downtime, part usage, and workshop performance.

Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Eng/Automotive

Job description

Minimum education of Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, or related fields.

At least 5 years of work experience in heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance (Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Dump Trucks, Trailers, etc.), preferably as a Workshop Manager or Head, ideally in the transportation logistics and mining industry.

Capable of leading and managing a team of mechanics, including conducting training sessions and regular performance evaluations.

Strong leadership and managerial skills.

Excellent communication and analytical thinking abilities.

Skilled in cost analysis and driving operational efficiency in the workshop.

Able to plan and schedule routine maintenance and vehicle repairs effectively.

Familiar with OEM system (Original Equipment Manufacture).

Experienced in budgeting, spare parts usage efficiency, and controlling operational workshop costs.

Able to manage spare parts inventory, handle procurement requests, and coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Familiar with preparing regular reports such as vehicle downtime, spare part usage, and overall workshop performance.

Willing to be placed in South Halmahera, Site Obi Island with a work system of 8 weeks onsite and 2 weeks offsite.
