Job summary

Sandvik AB invites applications for a local Workshop Worker at the LIP branch in Timika, Indonesia. This full-time role involves welding, parts handling, and distribution to internal customers within the workshop environment.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will perform welding activities, read drawings, and move between areas as needed, all while maintaining safety and quality standards. Monday–Saturday, on-site.

Qualifications

• Diploma 3 (D3) in any major required.
• Certified welder with minimum 3G qualification.
• Welding certifications issued by BNSP or Freeport are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding using approved welding processes and procedures.
• Read and interpret technical and welding drawings accurately.
• Execute welding in all required positions (flat, horizontal, vertical).
• Operate cutting torch and related fabrication tools safely.
• Ensure welding work complies with applicable welding codes and standards.
• Maintain quality, safety, and housekeeping standards in the work area.
• Willing to work in different areas and job assignments as required by operations.

Job description

We are seeking local Workshop Worker for LIP branch, to process and distribute parts to internal customers. This a full-time position Monday to Saturday

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will aid in the day-to-day operations and activities by picking and delivery spare parts to the various working areas of the workshop. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment with routine supervision and be able to understand detailed instructions.

Position Requirements

Education

• Minimum Diploma 3 (D3) (any major).

Certification

• Certified welder with minimum 3G qualification.
• Valid welding certification issued by BNSP / Freeport.

Experience

Minimum 2–3 years proven experience as a Welder in:

• Construction projects
• Manufacturing projects

Technical Skills

Proficient in welding processes:

• SMAW
• GTAW
• GMAW / FCAW

• Able to operate cutting torch.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting technical and welding drawings.
• Ability to perform welding in all positions.
• Knowledge of welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, or equivalent).
