Job summary

AFRY is seeking a Transmission Line Design Engineer in Jakarta to join its growing power transmission engineering team. The successful candidate will support line routing, sag-tension calculations, and design documentation using PLS-CADD for utility and renewable projects across domestic and international markets.

You will collaborate with international project teams, review layouts for constructability, and participate in client meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5-15 years of overhead transmission line engineering experience.
• Experience with 69 kV to 500 kV projects.
• Strong understanding of transmission line engineering principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal English.
• Ability to work independently and with international teams.

• Perform line routing, profile development, and plan & profile drawing preparation.
• Conduct sag-tension calculations and optimize conductor clearances.
• Analyze line geometry considering terrain, environmental constraints, and regulatory requirements.
• Generate construction staking reports, material quantities, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with tower, foundation, survey, and geotechnical engineering teams.
• Review transmission line layouts for constructability and compliance with applicable standards.
• Support design reviews, quality assurance, and engineering documentation.
• Assist in resolving technical issues during detailed engineering and construction.
• Participate in client meetings and interdisciplinary project coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5-15 years of experiencein overhead transmission line engineering.
• Experience with projects ranging from69 kV to 500 kV(or applicable voltage levels).
• Strong understanding of transmission line engineering principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in international project teams.
