Job summary

AFRY is seeking an experienced Project Manager, Thermal Power in Indonesia to lead concept studies, feasibility analyses, and engineering projects for gas, LNG, hydrogen-fired, and other power plants. The role involves EPC tendering, IPP/PPA negotiations, and coordinating technical consulting tasks with international teams.

Travel to SE-Asian countries is expected; fluent English is essential, Bahasa Indonesia a plus. Opportunity to grow within a leading global power sector consultancy.

Qualifications

• Higher professional degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, energy economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the power sector.
• Fluent in English; Bahasa Indonesia is a plus but not required.
• Strong report writing skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage power plant conceptual design studies, feasibility studies, lenders' engineer and independent engineer projects, and technical due diligence assessments for acquisition of power plants.
• Management of EPC tendering projects, negotiations with EPC contractors, IPP bidding projects, PPA negotiations and power project development in general.
• Management of various other technical consulting assignments.
• Preparation of reports for clients and coordinating internal report preparation process.
• Possibly to expand role to include business development, proposal preparation and consulting contract negotiation.

In line with our increasing business, AFRY is looking for aProject Manager, Thermal Powerfor our gas, LNG and hydrogen-fired power plant projects, biomass power projects, waste to energy projects, various hybrid power plant projects as well as carbon capture installations.

Job Description

• Preparation and management of power plant conceptual design studies, feasibility studies, lenders engineer and independent engineer projects, and technical due diligence assessments for acquisition of power plants
• Management of EPC tendering projects, negotiations with EPC contractors, IPP bidding projects, PPA negotiations and power project development in general
• Management of various other technical consulting assignments
• Preparation of reports for the clients as required and coordinating the internal report preparation process
• Possibly to expand role to include business development, proposal preparation and consulting contract negotiation etc.
• Possibility to expand role to include Owner’s engineer construction project management roles

Much of the work involves writing reports in English language, so excellent English language skill is a must. The job includes occasional trips to other SE-Asian countries, so willingness to travel on short-term assignments is expected.

Qualifications

• Higher professional degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, energy economics, or other field relevant for power sector projects (M.Sc. or B.Sc.).
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience from power sector.
• Fluent in English; Bahasa Indonesia is a plus but not a requirement
• Good skills in report writing.
• Good skills in Microsoft Word and Excel computer programs.
