Job summary

Flextronics - The Flex Company in Batam, Indonesia seeks a Tooling Manager to support teams building great products. You will manage tooling requisitions from prototype through mass production and lead improvements, preventive maintenance, and ECN activities for molds.

You will develop manufacturing processes, analyze tooling and process efficiency, and drive safety and quality initiatives while guiding the tool room team and pursuing cost reductions across sites.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in tooling or mold design.
• Expert functional, technical and people/process management skills.
• Broad knowledge across sites and strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage new tooling requisitions from prototype to mass production.
• Oversee improvements, major repairs, and ECN to molds.
• Implement preventive maintenance for production molds.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by tooling and process analysis.
• Lead quality and safety improvements training for tool room team.
• Generate and implement cost reduction ideas.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Tooling Manager located in Batam, Indonesia.

What a typical day looks like:

• Management of new tooling requisitions from prototype or complex designs through mass production.
• Responsible for improvements, major repairs, and Engineering Change Notice to the molds.
• Implementation of preventive maintenance for production molds.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements including but not limited to researching, designing, modifying, testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing tooling and process.
• Implementation of quality and safety improvements in training for tool room team.
• Generation and implementation of cost reduction ideas.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires 10 years on tooling or mold design activities.
• Demonstrates expert functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
• Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.
