Job summary

PT Multi Nitrotama Kimia is seeking a Technical Service Staff (Drill and Blast) to support on-site drilling and blasting activities at our Kalimantan Selatan mining sites. You will work with operations teams to optimise blast designs, monitor equipment, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Mining Engineering degree with 2–3 years of drill and blast experience, proficiency in blast design software, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
• 2–3 years of practical drill and blast experience in the mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, explosives handling, blast design, blasthole surveying.
• Solid understanding of mining safety regulations, explosive safety and environmental compliance.
• Proficiency with blast design software and drilling equipment diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly.
• Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel frequently and be placed in Tabalong.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to drilling and blasting teams on site, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
• Conduct inspections and assessments of drill holes, blast design, and explosive placement to verify compliance with operational specifications.
• Assist in the design and planning of blast patterns, considering geological conditions, equipment capabilities and production targets.
• Monitor and troubleshoot drilling equipment to identify potential issues and recommend corrective maintenance actions.
• Maintain detailed records of all drilling and blasting activities, including hole depths, powder factors, detonation times and blast results.
• Support the training and development of drilling and blasting personnel on technical procedures, safety standards and equipment operation.
• Liaise between site operations and management to communicate technical findings, recommendations and any issues requiring escalation.
• Ensure all activities comply with relevant mining regulations, safety legislation and company policies.
• Participate in post-blast reviews and analysis to continuously improve operational efficiency and safety performance.

About the role

PT Multi Nitrotama Kimia is seeking a talented Technical Service Staff (Drill and Blast) to join our dynamic mining operations team. This is a full-time position based in Tabalong, Kalimantan Selatan, where you will provide critical technical support and expertise to our drilling and blasting operations. This role is essential to ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant blast operations across our mining sites, and you will work directly with our operational teams to optimise drilling and blasting practices. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on mining productivity whilst maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support and guidance to drilling and blasting teams on site, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols

Requirement

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.

Minimum 2-3 years of practical experience in drill and blast operations within the mining industry

Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, explosives handling, blast design principles and blasthole surveying techniques

Solid understanding of mining safety regulations, explosive safety protocols and environmental compliance requirements

Proficiency with blast design software and drilling equipment diagnostic tools

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively

Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, with the capability to explain technical concepts clearly to operational staff

Physical fitness and willingness to work in challenging mining environments, including remote site locations

Certification in Blasting Operations or equivalent qualification is highly desirable

Experience with explosives licensing or relevant industry certifications would be advantageous

Able to travel frequently and work under pressure and target; willing to be placed in Tabalong, Kalimantan Selatan

Excellent knowledge of English and Excellent knowledge of computer systems, such as Microsoft Office and other tools or software also technology awareness

Have good attitude, fast learner and fast adapting also high initiative
