Job summary

Matahari, Indonesia's premier department store chain, seeks a skilled Architectural Interior Designer to translate approved 3D concepts into precise 2D CAD drawings and build-ready technical packages for retail spaces.

You will coordinate with Store Planning, R&D, QS, project/construction teams, and vendors, review drawings for accuracy, conduct site visits, and guide the team to deliver multiple projects on tight schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in retail interiors, architectural, or fit-out projects.
• Experience in fashion retail, department store, or commercial retail projects preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and technical/construction drawings.
• Strong understanding of interior construction, civil works, materials, shopfront, detailing.
• Able to translate design concepts into buildable technical drawings.

• Ensure drawings comply with design intent, materials, dimensions, standards, and site conditions.
• Review and control drawing quality, accuracy, completeness, and revisions before construction.
• Coordinate drawings with Store Planning, R&D, QS, Project/Construction, vendors, and contractors.
• Identify and resolve drawing or technical issues that may affect construction and site implementation.
• Conduct periodic site visits to verify implementation and resolve technical issues.
• Delegate and distribute drawing assignments to team members, monitor progress and quality.

Job description

Translate approved 3D design concepts into accurate and construction-ready 2D CAD / technical drawings.

Prepare complete technical drawing packages, including Master Drawing, civil/architectural working drawings, shopfront, column, cashier, fitting room, elevations, sections, construction details.

Ensure all drawings comply with the approved design intent, materials, dimensions, technical standards, and actual site conditions.

Review and control drawing quality, accuracy, completeness, and revisions before drawings are issued for construction.

Coordinate technical drawings with Store Planning, R&D, QS, Project/Construction, vendors, and contractors.

Identify and resolve drawing or technical issues that may affect construction and site implementation.

Conduct periodic site visits when required to verify implementation and resolve technical issues.

Delegate and distribute drawing assignments to team members, monitor their progress and quality, and ensure completion according to project schedules.

Manage drawing priorities and deliverables across multiple projects simultaneously within tight retail project timelines.

Requirements :

Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in retail, commercial interior, architectural, or fit-out projects.

Experience in fashion retail, department store, or commercial retail projects is preferred.

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and technical/construction drawing.

Strong understanding of interior construction, civil works, materials, shopfront, detailing, and fit-out methods.

Able to translate design concepts into accurate, practical, and buildable technical drawings.

Good understanding of site conditions and construction implementation.

Strong coordination, leadership, delegation, monitoring, and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to work effectively under tight schedules and multiple project deadlines.

Familiarity with SketchUp or other 3D software is an advantage.
