A maritime logistics company in Samarinda is seeking a Tech Superintendent Electrical to oversee the maintenance of vessel systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in maritime technical operations, strong leadership skills, and a background in mechanical or electrical engineering. Responsibilities include supervising repairs, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Develop short-term and long-term maintenance plans for all vessel systems and equipment (main engine, auxiliary engine, generator, pumps, cranes, windlass, electrical systems, control systems, and safety equipment)
Supervise the implementation of scheduled (planned) maintenance and unscheduled repairs
Lead troubleshooting activities, conduct root cause analysis, and provide effective solutions
Ensure technical records, repair history, and equipment condition reports are accurate and up to date
Prepare recommendations for repair or equipment replacement based on performance evaluation and service life
2. Procurement, Spare Parts & Budgeting
Monitor the availability of spare parts, consumables, and supporting equipment (ROB, assets, and projected requirements)
Assess procurement needs based on equipment condition and maintenance planning
Submit, evaluate, and compare vendor proposals to ensure the best quality at cost-efficient pricing
Manage the annual technical budget, monitor spending, and report variances or cost savings
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field
Professional certification in vessel technical management, equipment maintenance, or maritime safety is a plus
Work Experience
5–10 years of experience in maritime technical operations (maintenance, repair, operational management)
Experience as Technical Senior Staff or equivalent, handling both mechanical and electrical vessel systems
Skilled in docking processes, classification inspections, safety audits, and spare parts procurement
Strong leadership in managing technical teams and coordinating with vendors, surveyors, and maritime authorities
Electrical systems: generator, power distribution, switchboard, automatic control
Cargo handling systems: crane, winch, conveyor, grab
Piping & pumping systems: bilge, ballast, cooling, firefighting
Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
Troubleshooting and spare parts management
Docking management
