English 1 Indonesia is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher with classroom management, safety, activity assistance and student care. The TA helps demonstrate activities and monitors behavior according to center policies.

Primarily assigned to Small Stars classes (Books 1 & 2 and levels >6) and may assist High Flyers or Trailblazers as needed. No set minimum/maximum hours; onsite and offsite duties.

Position Summary

The Teaching Assistant (TA) is part of the school teaching team, supporting the class teacher in the areas of classroom management, safety, assistance with activities, and general student care. The TA will have an important role in student safety, enforcing the EF Health and Safety procedures. The TA also maintains classroom discipline, by both following the teacher’s lead and maintaining the center’s classroom behaviour policies. The role involves participating in lesson activities by helping to demonstrate, and monitoring, guiding, and helping students during the activities.

The TA will be assigned primarily to Small Stars classes:

Small Stars Books 1 & 2

Small Stars any level where class size is >6

Small Stars any level where there are behavioural issues and additional assistance is needed with classroom management.

The TA may on occasion be assigned to a High Flyers or Trailblazers level where there is a specific need.

Work Schedule

No set minimum or maximum hours.

Schedule is set in agreement with Senior Teaching Manager & Center Director

Onsite and offsite duties

Reporting Structure

The Teaching Assistant reports to the Senior Teaching Manager.

Key Responsibilities

A. In the classroom (in center or offsite)

Enforce student safety procedures

Support teacher in class activities

Take students to the bathroom

Help teachers enforce their rules and classroom management systems

Help get new students used to our expectations of classroom behaviour

B. Out of the classroom

Monitor student safety and behaviour before and after classes and during breaks

Line students up and escort to and from classroom

Qualifications
