Job summary

GRAND INDO PERKASA seeks a Mechanical Supervisor to lead a field mechanics team responsible for routine maintenance and repairs of heavy mining equipment. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership and planning to keep the fleet available for production.

You will perform advanced troubleshooting, enforce K3/HSE safety standards, and prepare reports on performance and spare parts needs. A relevant degree and supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a Leader position for heavy equipment mechanics in mining.
• Strong maintenance management and field troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with PC200–PC400 excavators, bulldozers and loaders, and large trucks.

• Develop daily/weekly work plans and service schedules (backlog & preventive maintenance).

Job description

Lead, direct, and supervise a team of mechanics in performing routine maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment in the field. Ensure unit availability targets and fleet reliability are achieved to support smooth mining operations.

Key responsibilities

Lead, direct, and supervise the mechanics team in conducting routine maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment in the field

Develop daily/weekly work plans and arrange service schedules (backlog & preventive maintenance)

Perform advanced troubleshooting on hydraulic systems, electrical, transmission, and engine damage requiring special handling

Ensure Unit Availability targets and fleet reliability are achieved for smooth mining production

Enforce and oversee implementation of occupational safety standards (K3/HSE) in workshop and site areas

Prepare periodic reports on mechanic performance, unit repair status, and spare parts requirements

About you

Minimum D3/S1 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive (SMK Heavy Equipment Engineering with minimum 5 years experience in a Leader position is highly considered)

Minimum 5 years experience as Supervisor/Foreman of Heavy Equipment Mechanics in mining areas (coal mining preferred)

Proficiency in maintenance management and troubleshooting of mining fleet including: Excavator class PC200 - PC400 or above, Bulldozer & Wheel Loader, Heavy Dump Truck & ADT (Scania, Volvo, etc.)

Must possess BMC (Basic Mechanic Course) certificate. POP (Pengawas Operasional Pertama) certificate is a significant added value

Strong leadership capability, good communication skills, firm demeanor, and ability to manage teams under pressure

Proficient in computer use (MS Office) for maintenance log reporting
