Job summary

DOKU is seeking a Strategy Manager to guide growth by leading market research, piloting new products, and expanding into Southeast Asia. Reporting to the VP of Strategy & Investments, you will shape strategic direction and regional expansion.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure market launches meet legal, regulatory, and operational requirements, while supporting strategy work and leadership meetings.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in market research, strategy development or investment analysis.
• Experience in payments or fintech is a plus.
• International business and SEA expansion experience encouraged.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research to identify opportunities and threats in existing and new markets.
• Lead market entry strategy and rollout planning for new countries.
• Set up entities, regulatory filings, and stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Finance for launches.
• Review legal documents with Legal and Compliance for regulator submissions.
• Support board presentations and leadership meetings.

Job Summary:

The Strategy Manager will play a pivotal role in guiding the company's growth by leading market research efforts, piloting new products, and expanding the business into new countries within Southeast Asia. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Strategy & Investments, this role is integral to the company's strategic direction and regional expansion.

Job Responsibility:

• Conduct comprehensive market research to identify opportunities and threats in existing and potential new markets, focusing on merchant pain points, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead strategic planning and execution for market entry into new countries or new business ventures, including market assessments, budgeting, entry strategies, risk analysis, and rollout planning.
• Act as a country launcher by setting up new entities (if required), executing regulatory filings, identifying clients or partners, and managing relationships with in-country stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Operations, Marketing & PR, Finance) to ensure a seamless market launch by addressing legal, regulatory, marketing, and operational requirements.
• Review, analyze, and finalize relevant legal documents with the Legal and Compliance Team for all submissions to regulators, partners, and clients in the new country.
• Provide support for ongoing strategy work, board presentations, and management/leadership meetings.

Job Specification :

• At least 4 years of experience in market research, strategy development, and investment analysis, preferably within the tech industry.
• Experience in the payments or fintech industry is an advantage.
• Experience in management consulting is a plus.
• Experience in international business and market expansion, particularly within SEA countries.
