Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Batam, Indonesia is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to support requisitions, purchasing, and supplier selection. You will conduct spend analyses, develop sourcing strategies, and monitor supplier performance to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.

The role requires a university degree with 3+ years in engineering or supply chain, proficiency with Syteline ERP, and strong English communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• University degree with minimum 3 years' experience in Engineering or Supply Chain or similar.
• Familiar with ERP (Syteline) system.
• Good communication in English.
• Excellent negotiation, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Basic understanding of finance, accounting, tax, and legal.

Responsibilities

• Process requisitions and provide support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost analyses and contract/purchase order generation.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies and conduct spend analysis to identify savings opportunities.
• Support customers and supplier proposals with pricing information and supplier selection.
• Monitor and administer purchasing initiatives and performance metrics (savings %, DPO).
• Engage top suppliers and onboard new or alternate suppliers to ensure competitive pricing without compromising lead time.
