Job summary

Norconsult Telematics Limited is seeking an experienced Fibre Network Planner to design and validate end-to-end fibre routes for large-scale projects. You will plan backbone, metro, and access connectivity, ensure accurate ODF records, and align with downstream transport/IP planning needs.

The role requires 8+ years in fiber network planning, proficiency with telecom GIS and network design tools, and fluency in Arabic and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in fiber network planning, OSP/ISP design or fibre inventory engineering.
• Experience with telecom GIS, fiber inventory platforms, network design tools.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English is mandatory.
• Fiber optic design and/or installation certification preferred.
• FTTx/OSP planning certification preferred.
• GIS or telecom inventory platform training is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop fibre network plans for backbone, metro, and access connectivity.
• Perform capacity planning and utilisation forecasting across the network.
• Analyse GIS records, duct/route data, and ODF records to identify gaps.
• Prepare route plans, fibre allocation plans, and diversity assessments.
• Coordinate with civil works, field survey, and vendor teams to validate routes.
• Ensure fibre plans support DWDM, IP/MPLS, and enterprise services.
• Define naming conventions, route identifiers, and documentation standards.
• Maintain planning trackers and deliver clean inventory datasets.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering, operations, rollout, and vendors.
• Strong problem-solving and ownership of deliverables.
