Job summary

NinjaOne seeks a Software Engineer (Ruby) in Bandung, Indonesia, to join a global team delivering a SaaS platform. You’ll develop and test Ruby-based software, contribute to the backup product, and implement monitoring to proactively address issues.

The role requires collaboration in a hybrid setup with at least 2 days in the office. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in software development, experience with Ruby on Rails/Padrino, and familiarity with Linux/Windows, SQL, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in software development.
• Experience with Ruby scripting and Rails/Padrino.
• Familiar with .NET C# or Java/Kotlin is a plus.
• Experience with NoSQL like Elasticsearch/OpenSearch is a plus.
• Experience with frontend development (ReactJS) is a plus.
• Comfort with operating systems like Linux/Windows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work with global teams outside Indonesia.

Description

We are looking for Software Engineers specialized in Ruby to work on the Dropsuite data backup and recovery product. You will be a part of a global team of product engineers delivering a SaaS platform. The role is focused on working on our backup solutions for our partners which covers the area of backup and archive, restore and download. You will work very closely with many of our amazing Software Engineers and Leads to deliver quality product features, provide fixes and support improvements to the in-market product.

Location – Hybrid | Bandung, Indonesia (at least 2 days per week in the office)

What You’ll be Doing

• Developing and testing software on Ruby
• Write efficient, bug-free, robust and testable code that performs efficiently in production
• Work on the Backup product and play a key role in the maintenance of the product
• Develop and implement alerting and monitoring mechanisms to proactively detect and address application issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in an evolving code base
• Work with a scrum team and participate in scrum ceremonies.
• Share status updates with accuracy
• Delivering high impact solutions with a high degree of independence.
• Research new areas and documented it in clear and detailed manner
• Create detailed technical design documentations.

About You

• About 3 to 5 years of experience in Software Development
• Experience with Ruby Scripting, Ruby on Rails / Padrino
• Experience with .NET C# or Java / Kotlin (Good to have)
• Experience with NoSQL like Elasticsearch / OpenSearch (Good to have)
• Experience with frontend development like ReactJS (Good to have)
• Experience working with agentic AI is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
• Knowledge of Operating systems like Linux and Windows
• Knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and AWS Cloud
• Good interpersonal skills, oral and written skills, with the ability to present ideas
• Able to express and explain new initiatives along with status updates

• Working experience with Global teams outside Indonesia will be a huge plus
