Job summary

Kredivo is seeking a Software Engineer in Test (Data) on our SEIT team to build automated tests across business logic, APIs, and data pipelines moving through BigQuery and Redshift. You will sit with Product and Engineering from the moment a feature is defined, catching what could break before it reaches production.

3-5+ years in software quality engineering, strong data warehousing knowledge, and proficiency in SQL plus a test-automation language are required.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in software quality engineering or SEIT.
• Strong data pipelines and warehousing knowledge (BigQuery/Redshift/PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one test-automation language (Python/Java/JS/TS).
• Experience building automated test frameworks across business logic, APIs, and end-to-end journeys.
• Familiarity with data validation techniques and CI/CD tooling.

As a Software Engineer in Test (Data) on our SEIT team, you'll build automated tests across business logic, APIs, and the pipelines moving data through BigQuery and Redshift. You'll sit with Product and Engineering from the moment a feature is defined, catching what could break before it reaches production.

About the job

• Collaborate with the engineering team in reviews of technical specifications and program code with an emphasis on testability
• Assure Clean Code Development: readability, changeability, extensibility, and maintainability
• Analyze legacy code to advise and coach teams on adherence to clean code development and to build appropriate tests
• Analyze requirements and help define acceptance criteria for features being developed
• Work closely with the Product team to understand expectations of how a feature should function
• Decompose user stories/requirements to identify what tests need to be created and automated across the full solution stack (business logic, contract, journey, accessibility, visual, performance)
• Work in tandem with developers to automate tests for the full solution stack (business logic, contract, journey, accessibility, visual, performance)
• Work with development and operations teams to debug testing failures
• Actively monitor post-release metrics to identify any defects that may have slipped through the cracks
• Write tests that expose the defect before any fix is attempted
• Evaluate existing testing methodologies and suggest new techniques to help deliver high-quality features faster
• Improve, maintain, and execute automated testing across the full solution stack
• Maintain a solid understanding of QA workflows and test automation best practices
• Maintain proficiency in the application and use of systems, tools, and processes

About you

• 3-5+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or software engineering in test (SEIT), ideally with exposure to data-intensive or fintech systems
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts (e.g. BigQuery, Redshift, PostgreSQL)
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used for test automation (Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks across business logic, API/contract, and end-to-end journey layers
• Familiarity with data validation techniques such as schema validation, data lineage tracing, and statistical drift detection (e.g. Population Stability Index)
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g. Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Solid grasp of clean code principles and the ability to coach engineers on testability and maintainability
• Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to trace failures across distributed systems
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia, with the ability to work cross-functionally with Product and Engineering

Nice to Have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer)
• Exposure to performance testing and accessibility/visual regression testing tools
• Experience working in fintech, lending, or other regulated data environments
• Familiarity with LLM-assisted testing or data-masking/replay style regression pipelines
