Job summary

PT Freeport Indonesia Inc. in Indonesia is seeking a Smelter Operation Readiness - Planner to ensure reliability and efficiency of smelting and refining plant equipment by developing accurate maintenance plans and scheduling work.

You will coordinate resources, review work orders in CMMS, and ensure safety and cost targets are met while aligning with production needs and shutdown planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in Engineering.
• Five (5) years of experience as planner or in shutdown management, especially in mining or smelter facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans.
• Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance schedules aligned with production needs.
• Coordinate resources, tools, materials, and manpower required for maintenance activities.
• Review, prioritize, and manage maintenance work orders in CMMS.
• Ensure maintenance plans comply with safety standards, LOTO procedures, and risk assessments.
• Monitor and control spare parts availability and support procurement activities.
• Track and report maintenance KPIs to improve planning effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, OHS, and Environmental teams.
• Support shutdown and turnaround planning for smelting and refining equipment.
• Maintain accuracy of equipment master data and job plans in CMMS.

Responsible to ensure the reliability, availability, and efficiency of smelting and refining plant equipment by developing accurate maintenance plans, scheduling preventive and corrective work, coordinating resources, and ensuring execution aligns with safety, cost, and production goals.

• Develop and maintain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans.
• Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance schedules aligned with production needs.
• Coordinate resources, tools, materials, and manpower required for maintenance activities.
• Review, prioritize, and manage maintenance work orders in the CMMS.
• Ensure maintenance plans comply with safety standards, LOTO procedures, and risk assessments.
• Monitor and control spare parts availability and support procurement activities.
• Track and report maintenance KPIs to improve planning effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, OHS, and Environmental teams.
• Support shutdown and turnaround planning for smelting and refining equipment.
• Maintain accuracy of equipment master data and job plans in CMMS.
• Complex and Highly Interdependent Equipment; smelting and refining plants operate with equipment that is hot, hazardous, and interlinked (furnaces, converters, anode furnaces, electrorefining cells, gas cleaning systems). Any planning error can disrupt the entire production chain.
• Production demand is often tight, and equipment operates continuously. Planners must negotiate downtime windows while ensuring maintenance is still executed effectively.
• Critical spare parts often have long lead times. Ensuring availability while minimizing stock cost is a continuous challenge.
• Unexpected breakdowns, shifting priorities, and resource constraints can reduce schedule adherence. Planners must continuously adjust without compromising quality or safety.

Requirement Education & Experience

Education:

Bachelor's degree or associate Degree from any Engineering field.

Experience:

Five (5) years of experience as planner or in shutdown management, especially directly relevant to mining industry or manufacture/smelter facilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Characters

Knowledge

• In-depth understanding of planning for various maintenance activity.
• Use of systems (CMMS) for recording work orders and asset management.

Skill

• Ability to diagnose and repair issues quickly and accurately.
• Leading planner, organizing work schedules, and ensuring productivity.
