Job summary

PaxOcean is seeking a Project Engineer to support planning, coordination and execution of ship repair projects to ensure timely, high-quality completion. You will help prepare repair specifications, assess technical requirements, monitor progress and coordinate with production teams, vendors and clients.

The role requires ensuring safety, quality and classification standards and assisting in resolving on-site technical issues.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or Equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management in ship repair or newbuilding or conversion
• Good spoken & written English and knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia/Malay is preferable
• Computer literate in Word, Excel, Project & AutoCAD
• Sound knowledge of technical terminology particular to marine environments
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Experience in costing, budgeting, WBS, planning, forecasting, scheduling, progress management and reporting

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination and execution of ship repair projects to ensure timely and quality completion
• Prepare repair specifications and evaluate technical requirements
• Monitor work progress and coordinate with production teams, vendors and clients
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and classification standards
• Resolve technical issues during repair activities
• Review and approve construction drawings, test procedures and method statements
• Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and workmanship meet standards
• Organize and lead coordination meetings and prepare progress reports
• Ensure timely procurement and material availability in line with construction schedule
• Support handover documentation and commissioning activities
