Job summary

DayOne is seeking a Shift Operations Supervisor to lead and supervise a team of shift technicians in our data centre. You will ensure smooth operations, monitor critical services, and coordinate with departments to resolve challenges.

We value strong leadership, clear communication, and a focus on safety. 2+ years in data centre operations and a Bachelor’s degree are preferred. This role requires a 24/7 operational mindset and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in data centre operations or a similar role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of shift technicians, ensuring effective performance.
• Provide guidance and support to team members to foster a productive environment.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
• Ensure data centre operations run smoothly during shifts and monitor critical systems.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve operational challenges.
• Prepare detailed shift handover reports and communicate them before end of shift.
• Conduct shift handover meetings to brief incoming shift on status and issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct safety drills and training sessions for the shift team.
• Report and document any safety incidents or near-misses promptly.
• Provide technical assistance and support to the shift team as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during shifts.
• Coordinate with the technical support team for complex resolutions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
• Participate in training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Compliance And Safety

• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions for the shift team.
• Report and document any safety incidents or near-misses promptly.

Technical Support

• Provide technical assistance and support to the shift team as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the shift.
• Coordinate with the technical support team for complex problem resolution.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the shift team.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications
