Job summary

EdgeConneX seeks a Facility Engineer based in Cikarang to maintain technical installations and infrastructure across our Data Centers. You will report to the Facility Manager and participate in shift-based work, including day and night rotations to support onsite alarms and vendor escorts.

You will ensure safe and efficient maintenance, coordinate with operations, and drive improvements in quality, energy efficiency, and uptime while adhering to EdgeConneX standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• 4 year technical education with certificates.
• Relevant M&E training/education.
• Safety for Operational Supervisors.
• Relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, effective, and efficient delivery of planned maintenance following EdgeConneX standards.
• Inform management about planned and corrective work in the Data Center.
• Plan and implement customer requested work and keep stakeholders informed.
• Plan work on 1-line equipment per preventive maintenance schedule.
• Prepare detailed Method of Procedure for approval by Operations Management.
• Organize all testing of mission critical equipment on site.
• Log all contractor/vendor work in EdgeConneX systems according to procedures.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies during work hours and communicate clearly.
• Identify opportunities to raise quality and deliver cost savings without sacrificing uptime.
• Increase energy efficiency while maintaining site continuity.
• Administer all executed work promptly and correctly.
• Work with others across the organization and support on-site safety and continuity.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support and escort vendors as requested by Facility Manager.

Job description

In close consultation with Data Center management, the Facility Engineer will contribute to the maintenance of the technical installations and infrastructure on the Data Centers of EdgeConneX.

This position will be based in Cikarang, and report to Facility Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of planned maintenance, that meets all EdgeConneX standards and procedures, by leveraging competent contractor/vendor resources with attention to quality.
• Ensures that company management is fully informed and briefed on all planned and corrective work occurring in the Data Center.
• Plans and implements customer requested work in a timely manner. Ensures that the customer and company management are informed on the status and details of the work.

In concert with the operations:

• Plans work on 1-line equipment according to Planned Preventive Maintenance Schedule, including roadmap to be approved by Manager of Operations and/or Nominated person in control of an electrical installation.
• Prepares detailed Method of Procedure to be approved by Manager of Operations and/or nominated person in control of an electrical installation.
• Organizes all testing of mission critical equipment on the site.
• Responsible for ensuring that all work being done by contractors/vendors is logged in EdgeConneX systems and is in accordance with the approved Method of Procedure
• Responsible for ensuring that all work being done by contractors/vendors is.
• During normal working hours, responds to alarms, critical situations, and emergencies in a proper and timely manner. Responsible for communicating in a calm and clear manner and in accordance with the emergency response plan.
• Will take initiative to ensure that quality and efficiency standards are raised for all the equipment in the Data Center. This includes finding ways to delivery cost savings to EdgeConneX without sacrificing quality.
• Finds ways to increase energy efficiency without sacrificing continuity or uptime of the site.
• Administers in a correct and timely manner all executed work in accordance with all process and Procedures
• Works effectively and efficiently with others inside the organization
• In Emergencies, is responsible for the timely response to ensure safety and operational continuity on site
• Is constantly monitoring the site to ensure that safety standards are met.
• Work in a shift-based role (day and night) with 8- or 12-hour rotations to support and respond to onsite alarms and escort vendors as requested by the Facility Manager.
• This job requires 24/7 on-call support

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Fluent in English and Bahasa.

Knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical systems in use in the Data Center environment including transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS & STS units, RPP units, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units

Strong communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure.

Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables.

Superb ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities.

Superb ability to meet committed timelines, leveraging assistance/input from peers.

Strong and effective team player in working with various disciplines and peer groups; can cover all gamut of tasks required to 'getting a job done.'
