Job summary

Indonesia Defence Services seeks an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician to perform structural repairs, fabrication, and maintenance per approved data and engineering specs to ensure airworthiness. You will inspect frames, replace skins, and cooperate with senior engineers to assess damage and return aircraft to service.

Requirements include aerospace trade certificates, 5+ years' experience, and proficiency in English. Heavy schedule tolerance and weekend work may be needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum Aerospace or relevant trade certificates.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Preferred experience on aircraft/helicopters/airframe/components.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Advantage to have experience rotary/helicopter aircrafts.
• Able to converse, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft structural repairs, sheet metal fabrication, modifications and maintenance per approved data and specs.
• Carry out minor and major maintenance checks, including removal/installation of access panels and corrosion inspection.
• Assist Aircraft License Engineer and Supervisory Lead with damage/repair assessments.
• Repair/alter sheet metal structures per SRM, CMM or approved authorizations to return aircraft to serviceability.
• Replace or repair skins and structural components using manuals, drawings and tools.
• Perform critical maintenance such as structural repair or fabrication on metal parts.
• Inspect frames like stringers, bulkheads, spars, wings and movable surfaces; perform corrosion prevention.
• Conduct minor and major structural repairs and corrosion-related skin work.
• Execute heavy maintenance and structural modifications including skin repairs, service bulletins and fabrication.
• Interpret aircraft drawings accurately.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician to perform aircraft structural repairs, sheet metal fabrication, modifications, and maintenance activities in accordance with approved maintenance data and engineering specifications, ensuring the highest standards of airworthiness, safety, and quality.

Key responsibilities

Perform minor and major maintenance checks, such as removal and installation of access panels, inspection of areas prone to corrosion

Assist Aircraft License Engineer and Supervisory Lead to perform damage/repair assessment

Perform sheet metal structure repair work and alteration of damage aircraft in accordance with work specifications of structure repair manual (SRM), component maintenance manual (CMM), or any engineering authorizations and manufacturer specifications to return aircraft serviceable and airworthy condition

Replace or make repairs to skins and structural component of aircraft as required using approved manuals, drawings and tools

Perform critical maintenance tasks such as structural repair or fabrication on metal parts

Inspect structural frames such as stringer, bulkhead, spars, wing, movable control surfaces and perform corrosive prevention control on skin and aircraft structures

Perform minor and major structural repairs, corrosion damage of structural skin, assembly and disassembly

Perform heavy maintenance and structural modifications on various aircrafts skin repairs, service bulletins, corrosion control and fabrication

Good interpretation of aircraft drawings

Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the Supervisor

About you

Minimum Aerospace or relevant trade certificates

At least 5 years of relevant working experience

Preferred working experience on aircraft/helicopters/airframe/components

Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills

Advantage to have experience rotary/helicopter aircrafts

Able to converse, read and write English

Able to work overtime and weekends if need to
