Job summary

Samudera Indonesia, a pioneer in Indonesia's shipping industry, is seeking a Fleet Operations Manager to supervise daily ship operations and ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across the fleet.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or Nautical Science and at least 1 year of fleet management or marine operations experience. Strong analytical, leadership, and coordination skills are essential, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management systems.

  • Strong understanding of vessel operations, maintenance, and maritime safety regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with fleet management systems/software.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day to day operational activities related to ship operation.
  • Ensure compliance with organisation procedures and industry regulations to ensure the safe operation of ships.
  • Manage primary communications link with the Ship's Master and with customers.
  • Monitor ship movements and cargo transfer operations.
  • Analyze ships operational data to improve efficiency, evaluate performance, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Supervise and monitor vessel operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with company standards and maritime regulations.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Technical, and Chartering Departments to optimize vessel scheduling and deployment.
  • Review vessel performance reports, including fuel consumption, voyage efficiency, and downtime.
  • Ensure proper documentation, certification, and maintenance schedules for all vessels in the fleet.
  • Identify operational issues, propose corrective actions, and implement improvements to enhance fleet performance.

Main Responsibilities

General Responsibilities
  • 1. Ensure the implementation of an Integrated Management System, including the identification, documentation, and control of risks in the relevant department's work area.
  • 2. Foster and ensure the commitment of every team member to understand and adhere to all applicable Integrated Management System requirements.
  • 3. Be willing to participate in the investigation process of accidents, incidents, or actions that may lead to incidents caused by unsafe actions or unsafe conditions, including providing accurate information and reports based on known facts.
  • 4. Be willing to engage in the information security control process applied to protect the information assets and information processing assets owned and/or managed by the Company from threats to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
