Job summary

Flex is seeking a Tooling Manager in Batam, Indonesia to lead tooling design, maintenance, and process improvements for production molds. You will manage requisitions from prototypes through mass production and drive continuous cost and quality enhancements.

The ideal candidate has extensive tooling or mold design experience, strong leadership and cross-site collaboration skills, and a proven ability to implement preventive maintenance and efficiency gains.

Qualifications

• Typically requires extensive tooling or mold design experience.
• Demonstrates expert functional, technical and people/process management skills.
• Understands strategic impact of tooling across sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage new tooling requisitions from prototype or complex designs through mass production.
• Responsible for improvements, major repairs, and Engineering Change Notice to the molds.
• Implementation of preventive maintenance for production molds.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements including researching, designing, modifying, testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing tooling and process.
• Implementation of quality and safety improvements in training for tool room team.
• Generation and implementation of cost reduction ideas.
