Job summary

KBR in Jakarta seeks a Technical Safety Engineer to develop design safety philosophies and fire protection specifications for hydrocarbon processing projects. You will prepare PFDs/ P&IDs, perform hazard analyses, and support safety reviews across disciplines.

Responsibilities include LNG/hydrocarbon risk assessment, HAZID/HAZOP/SIL studies, and coordinating with vendors for safety equipment. A strong background in HSE engineering and international codes is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
10+ years HSE Engineering experience (Process Safety/Risk Analysis/Loss Prevention Engineering).
LNG facilities experience in design projects is required.
Strong knowledge of International Codes and Standards (DNV/ ABSNFPA) and ability to influence designs for optimal HSE outcomes.
Familiar with hazard analysis methods (HAZID/HAZOP/SIL) and safety reviews (SIMOPS, ALARP).
Proficient with PIPENET, Flaresim & other consequence modelling software such as DNV PHAST.

Responsibilities

Develop Design Safety Philosophies and Specifications for fire protection systems (active & passive).
Prepare UFDs, P&IDs for fire protection systems and perform demand calculations.
Participate in Process Hazard reviews and analyses (HAZOP/HAZID/SIL/Bowtie/ALARP).
Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve safety matters and support safety layout preparations.
Support in vendor document reviews for safety packages and PFP scheduling.
