Senior Systems Engineer - Endpoint Management
As the senior systems engineer, you will be responsible for endpoint and patch management in Grab to ensure smooth daily regional operations (Level 2 and 3) and management of tasks/projects for the business. You will need to have a background in mobile device management, patch management, operating system, and application lifecycle management. Additionally, you will have scripting skills. You must collaborate excellently and communicate updates and resolutions to customers and other partners effectively.
You will report to the IT System Manager. This role is based onsite at Grab's office in South Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Endpoint Management Systems:
- Responsible for endpoint management via Software as a Service (SaaS) - SaaS based systems like Jamf, Workspace One, Digicert and JumpCloud.
- Responsible for software evaluation, testing, endpoint deployment and post-deployment support.
- Responsible for OS patch management and application lifecycle management.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Automation & Optimisation: Automate tasks to maintain operational efficiency on the platform we manage.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work with internal stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and support.
- Provide Level 2 & 3 IT operational support. Coordinate and liaise with vendors for operational support.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and latest technologies.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across different managed systems and platforms to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Technical Project Execution: Lead the end-to-end implementation of endpoint deployments, ensuring high-quality delivery of clearly-defined outcomes and improving system efficiency.
Qualifications
- Endpoint Management: At least 6 years of administration and operations experience with Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, and Android endpoints, including Windows image deployment.
- MDM Expertise: hands-on experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools like Jamf, Workspace One, Intune, JumpCloud, and Google MDM.
- System Deployment and Management: Experience of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MECM/Intune) and Windows Autopilot, with skills in OS and application patch management.
- Platform Proficiency: Experience of at least two core platforms (MacOS, Windows, Linux) and familiarity with mobile OS (iOS and Android), along with Mobile Application Management (MAM).
- Security and Compliance: Experience implementing endpoint security configurations based on industry standards, familiarity with PKI concepts, and knowledge of SSO and related protocols.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in scripting and automation (Bash, Shell, PowerShell, Python), and experience using AI tools to enhance coding efficiency and documentation quality.
- Operational Excellence: Experience in advanced troubleshooting, change management, incident management, and understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.) would be a good addition.
