Job summary

Austin Engineering Ltd in Batam, Indonesia seeks an experienced Senior Project Planner to develop and manage detailed schedules spanning engineering, procurement, fabrication, and delivery.

You will coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain, monitor progress, lead planning meetings, and drive continuous improvement in planning processes while ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in project planning and controls.
• Experience in heavy fabrication, mining equipment manufacturing, structural steel, or engineering projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling methodologies and project control principles.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent planning software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain detailed project schedules across engineering, procurement, fabrication, assembly, inspection, and delivery activities.
• Prepare project execution plans, manpower forecasts, and resource-loading schedules.
• Monitor project progress and analyze schedule performance against baselines.
• Identify schedule risks, delays, and bottlenecks; recommend corrective actions to management.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project teams to align priorities and delivery commitments.
• Lead weekly and monthly planning meetings; provide progress reports to stakeholders.
• Track milestones, critical paths, and key deliverables using project management tools.
• Develop and maintain production and capacity planning models to support operational efficiency.
• Monitor procurement schedules and material availability to prevent disruptions to manufacturing activities.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules and recovery plans for delayed projects.
• Analyze productivity, earned value, and project performance metrics.
• Support tendering and project estimation with schedule and resource planning inputs.
• Ensure planning documentation maintained per company procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project controls and planning processes.
• Promote compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental standards.

• Experience in heavy fabrication, mining equipment manufacturing, structural steel, or engineering projects is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling methodologies and project control principles.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent planning software.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
