Cognex is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support existing product designs and the supply chain across suppliers, contract manufacturers, and distribution centers. The role focuses on improving manufacturability, reducing costs, and enhancing quality by applying strong design-for-manufacture principles.

You will work with suppliers and internal teams to optimize assembly, test, and inspection methods, and perform end-of-life component qualifications. Travel about 20% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or equivalent engineering.
• 2-5 years of experience with high-tech electronics or electro-mechanical products.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical or PCB manufacturing process engineering.
• Knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly techniques.

Responsabilités

• Ensure materials selection and product designs balance cost, quality and manufacturability.
• Investigate quality issues with structured problem solving in a team.
• Collect production data, analyze, report, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support assembly, test, and inspection methods for products.
• Travel locally (mostly Asia) to contract manufacturers, vendors, or customers ~20%.
