Job summary

PT Majati Furniture is seeking a cost estimator to build precise unit costs for new and custom items and to manage ERP-based costing data. You will use analogs, adjust for materials and labor, maintain the costing library and flag risks with clear justifications.

Responsibilities

• Build accurate unit costs for new & custom items.
• Use analogs and adjust for material, size, finish, labor, etc.
• Maintain costing library and update with actual results.
• Flag cost risks and report with clear basis and assumptions.
• Compare quoted vs. actual cost and feed corrections.
• Manage item masters, BOMs and costing data in ERP (Katana preferred).
• Maintain item masters, BOMs and cost data in ERP.
• Enter material, hardware and subcontract costs.
• Create purchase needs for non-standard materials.
• Extract data for costing, comparisons and reports.
• Ensure data quality and follow data standards.
• Support ERP changes or migration.
• Develop approval/shop drawings from designs, RFQs or reference images.
• Show dimensions, materials, finish and hardware intent.
• Track client comments and revision history.
• Create assembly, sub-assembly and component drawings.
• Include dimensions, tolerances, joinery, material thickness, grain direction and machining notes.
• Apply design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Maintain drawing standards and revision systems.
• Work with QC and production during prototype/pilot runs.
• Prepare detailed BOMs for all materials and components.
• Cross-check with drawings to avoid shortages/overages.
• Update BOMs after changes or revisions.
• Alert procurement early for new or non-standard materials.
• Define process flow (cutting, machining, assembly, finishing, upholstery, packing, QC).
• Estimate labor time and process requirements.
• Align with planning, capacity and delivery dates.
• Improve routing based on shop-floor feedback.
• Work with sales, design, production, quality, procurement, and logistics.
• Ensure smooth communication and project progress.
