Job summary

Majura AI in Surabaya is seeking its first senior engineer to own architecture across our product surface as we scale. Hybrid work: 3 days in the office, remote considered for eligible candidates.

The role centers on Kotlin with a core backend stack including Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and a frontend using React and GraphQL. You will design schemas, data models, and service boundaries, build our AI infrastructure from the ground up, deploy and monitor services, and mentor two junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer with production Kotlin experience and a track record shipping JVM-based services.
• Ability to own architecture, data models, and service boundaries end-to-end.
• Strong written and verbal English, and comfort in a fast-moving startup.
• Experience designing schemas, debugging at scale, and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Work autonomously on specs or customer problems with CTO sign-off for big decisions.
• Own API contracts, data models, and service boundaries; defend architecture in reviews.
• Build AI infrastructure from the ground up and run it in production.
• Deploy, monitor, and fix services; no handoff to ops teams.
• Mentor two junior engineers; participate in code reviews and pairing.
