Job summary

Idaho Power Company in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Senior IT Technical Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology team. This role partners with business units to translate needs into technical solutions and ensure reliable, scalable systems.

Under minimal supervision, you will liaison between technologists and stakeholders, analyze requirements, design solutions, and support end users with troubleshooting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related field or equivalent
• 5+ years IT/business experience with at least 3 years as a business analyst
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Senior IT Technical Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology (IT) team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does a Senior IT Technical Systems Analyst do for us?

With minimal supervision, they work on domain specific solution(s)/application(s) with strong business process and end-to-end technical knowledge. Their primary functions include:

• Acting as the main liaison between technologists and stakeholders
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with the designated business partners to support strategic objectives
• Facilitating solution assessment through analysis, management, communication of requirements, translation and alignment on solutions that meet IT strategy and business objectives
• Analyzing and assisting the business with defining and/or designing new business solutions and documenting solution(s)
• Being the first line of support for end users
• Troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Developing and maintaining complex reports and queries
• System configuration and prototyping
• Understanding of complex technology and applications; has experience with a multitude of business processes and information systems

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Knowledge of:

• Business analyst principles, requirements management, business case development, requirements elicitation, communication, analysis, advanced application functionality and process modeling
• Adaptive and predictive project management methodologies

• Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with configuration items and development objects

• Prioritize course of action for self and others to ensure that work is managed effectively
• Effectively translate business requirements into design specifications that can be leveraged by a developer to create a solution that meets business objectives
• Proactively identify potential issues before they impact end users
• Respond promptly and professionally to issues identified by end users, assist in identification and implementation of resolution

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related field

OR

• An equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and/or certifications

Experience:

• 5 or more years of professional level IT/business experience with a minimum of 3 years of business analyst experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.
