Job summary

Impactiva is seeking a Senior Process Engineer (Oil & Gas) for a fully remote role. You will optimize upstream and downstream hydrocarbon processes, develop process simulations (HYSYS/Aspen Plus), and provide remote technical support to operations and projects.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, 8+ years in oil and gas, strong thermodynamics knowledge, and PSM experience. PE is a plus; occasional travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive process engineering experience in oil & gas (upstream/downstream).
• Proficiency with process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS/Aspen Plus).
• Understanding of hydrocarbon phase behavior, thermodynamics, and unit operations.
• Experience with PSM principles and hazard analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong remote communication skills.
• Candidate able to work independently in a remote setting; PE is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize oil and gas processing operations including separation, dehydration, sweetening, and stabilization units.
• Develop and use process simulation models to evaluate performance and identify improvements.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and implement solutions to minimize downtime and maximize production.
• Perform mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, and performance evaluations.
• Create and review PFDs and P&IDs; ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and project teams.
• Prepare feasibility studies and recommendations for process improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and share expertise.

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the oil and gas industry (upstream or downstream).
• Strong proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS or Aspen Plus.
• In-depth understanding of hydrocarbon phase behavior, thermodynamics, and unit operations relevant to oil and gas processing.
• Experience with process safety management (PSM) principles and hazard analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information remotely.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Experience supporting operations in regions such as **Samarinda, East Kalimantan, ID**, is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is desirable.
