Job summary

Epicareer is seeking an experienced Senior Desktop Application Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance cross-platform desktop applications for Windows, macOS, and beyond, using frameworks such as Tauri, Electron, or Wails.

You will build secure, scalable software, integrate frontends with backend services, manage packaging, updates, and CI/CD, and collaborate with product, design, and backend teams while onsite in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on desktop development with at least one of Tauri, Electron, or Wails.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend framework skills (React or Vue).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cross‑platform desktop applications.
• Build user-friendly interfaces and ensure consistent functionality across OSes.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, startup time, and resource consumption.
• Implement packaging, installation, updates, and distribution.
• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable desktop app architectures.
• Integrate desktop apps with REST APIs, backend services, databases, and third-party systems.
• Connect frontend components with native operating system functionality.
• Develop features like file-system access, local storage, background processes, and system notifications.
• Apply security best practices and write unit/integration tests.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers; participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
