Job summary

Pro Integrate, a global AI and IT consulting firm, seeks a seasoned Database Specialist for WFO Jakarta. The role focuses on multi-TB migrations from SQL Server to PostgreSQL, cross-engine expertise, and bridging the gap between application and database layers.

You will work with AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, and .NET/EF Core, communicating technical concepts in Indonesian and English to technical and managerial audiences.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Database Engineer, DBA, or Database Consultant, including cross-engine migration projects.
• Led at least one large-scale, multi-terabyte (multi-TB) migration from SQL Server to PostgreSQL, including go-live and post-migration stabilization.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server / Azure SQL, including T-SQL, execution plans, Change Tracking/CDC, and Azure SQL Database (PaaS).
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL / Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, including planning, indexing, VACUUM/ANALYZE, and parameter tuning.
• Solid understanding of AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS Proxy, EKS, CloudWatch, and AWS Secrets Manager / IAM in database contexts.
• Understanding of .NET / .NET Core with EF Core and Npgsql to diagnose ORM-generated queries and optimize performance.
• Fluent communication in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-TB database migration projects from SQL Server to PostgreSQL and ensure go-live stability.
• Bridge application and database layers by diagnosing ORM-generated patterns and recommending improvements.
• Manage AWS/Azure database services and ensure secure, scalable access for applications.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical teams and management in both Indonesian and English.

Database Specialist - WFO Jakarta

Mandatory Qualifications (Must-Have):

1. 1. Experience & Seniority
   • - At least 7+ years of experience as a Database Engineer, DBA, or Database Consultant, including at least 3 years of experience handling cross-engine database migration projects.
   • - Proven hands-on experience leading at least one large-scale, multi-terabyte (multi-TB) migration from SQL Server to PostgreSQL, through completion, including go-live and post-migration stabilization.
2. 2. Cross-Engine Database Expertise
   • - Microsoft SQL Server / Azure SQL: Deep expertise in T-SQL, execution plans, Change - Tracking/CDC, and the configuration and limitations of Azure SQL Database (PaaS).
   • - PostgreSQL / Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL: Deep expertise in query planning (planner/optimizer), indexing strategies (B-tree, partial, covering, GIN/GiST as appropriate), VACUUM/ANALYZE, statistics management, and parameter tuning.
   • - Ability to map and understand behavioral differences between the two database engines, including data types, isolation levels, collation, date/time functions, and NULL handling.
3. 3. AWS Ecosystem
   • - Solid understanding of Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS Proxy (connection multiplexing and pinning), Amazon EKS, CloudWatch / Performance Insights / Database Insights, and AWS Secrets Manager / IAM authentication in database contexts.
4. 4. Application-Layer Understanding
   • - Sufficient understanding of .NET / .NET Core with Entity Framework Core and Npgsql to diagnose ORM-generated query patterns and recommend improvements, including projection, batching, connection pooling, No Reset On Close, and related optimizations.
5. 5. Communication & Language
   • - Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, verbally and in writing, to both technical and managerial audiences.

The candidate does not need to be a .NET developer but must be able to bridge the gap between the application layer and the database layer.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):

1. 1. AWS Certified Database – Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
2. 2. Experience with Aurora Query Plan Management (apg_plan_mgmt/QPM) and advanced optimizer flags.
3. 3. Experience tuning heavy batch and OLTP workloads, such as end-of-day or close-of-business processing.
4. 4. Experience in relevant industries, such as banking, automotive, or enterprise environments, with awareness of compliance requirements and data security.
5. 5. Understanding of Zero-ETL / data warehousing strategies and cross-region disaster recovery (DR) for Aurora.
