Qualifications

About the role

In this strategic role, you will be responsible for leading and managing customs operations, ensuring full compliance with Indonesian and international customs regulations, and providing expert guidance to clients navigating the complexities of import and export procedures. You will play a crucial role in optimising customs clearance processes, minimising delays, and reducing costs whilst maintaining the highest standards of regulatory adherence. This position offers significant responsibility and the opportunity to shape customs strategy and operations for multiple clients and projects.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in customs operations, import/export management, or related compliance roles within Indonesia
• Deep knowledge of Indonesian customs regulations, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise procedures, and international trade frameworks
• Comprehensive understanding of tariff classification, duty calculations, trade agreements, and preferential trade schemes
• Proven experience managing customs clearance for imports and exports across diverse product categories and industries
• Strong familiarity with customs documentation systems and software, including experience with electronic customs filing platforms
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and develop practical solutions
• Demonstrated leadership capability with experience training, mentoring, and supervising customs professionals
• Exceptional communication skills in both English and Indonesian, with the ability to interact effectively with customs authorities, clients, and internal stakeholders
• Professional certification or qualification in customs or international trade (such as ICCI Certified Customs Specialist or equivalent) is highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all documentation and compliance matters
• Ability to work autonomously whilst contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment
