Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science Education or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Science teaching experience.
• Experience in curriculum coordination or mentoring teachers is desirable.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Science educator ready to take the next step in your leadership journey?

IPEKA is seeking an experienced academic leader to serve as our Science Coordinator. In this role, you will provide academic leadership for the Science Department while maintaining an active teaching role with a reduced teaching load. You will work closely with school leaders and fellow educators to strengthen curriculum implementation, enhance teaching quality, and foster outstanding student achievement.

Key Responsibilities

As the Science Coordinator, you will:

Provide academic leadership for the Science Department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning across all Science subjects.

Mentor, coach, and support Science teachers in lesson planning, instructional strategies, classroom practices, and assessment.

Oversee curriculum implementation to ensure consistency, academic quality, and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with school leadership to establish departmental goals, academic programmes, and strategic improvement initiatives.

Analyse student learning data and assessment outcomes to identify areas for improvement and recommend targeted interventions.

Coordinate departmental meetings, collaborative planning sessions, and professional learning activities.

Support the development of innovative Science programmes and engaging laboratory learning experiences.

Maintain an active teaching role with a reduced teaching load while modelling effective classroom practices.

Foster a collaborative culture that promotes professional growth, innovation, and student success.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

A Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related Science discipline (Master's degree preferred).

At least 2 years of Science teaching experience.

Experience in curriculum coordination, subject leadership, or mentoring teachers is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of curriculum planning, assessment, and effective Science pedagogy.

Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.

An excellent command of spoken and written English.

A genuine passion for educational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
